I just picked up a used Bellari stereo tube direct box - came with a JAN 12AX7

It sounds (to me)  much better than my ProCo, Whirlwind, Rapco's

makes me wonder why there aren't more tube DI's out there?

stainlessbrown,

I don't own any DI or pre that isn't tube.  I have a Groove Tubes Brick which is great for condenser mic or DI for guitar or bass.  I don't do a vocal take or bass track without it.  If I'm tracking more than one vocal at a time I also have one of the ART Digital MPAs that has variable impedance along with tubes and it is stereo.  I'm using the PreSonus FireStudio Tube for I/O and there again, tube is the operative word.

Mikey, Likey his Tubbes!!!

I don't mind a DI box for my keyboards, but for vocals, or guitars, it's gotta have a tube!

I alway thought I'd get myself a really good quality tube preamp, but my preSonus TubePre works well enough for my limited talent level.

I still want to test drive the EHX tube preamp. I really like the sound of the high voltage stuff.....
