This is one where I wrote music to a friends lyrics. I really liked the lyrics. 1981?

I guess you'd call me -- musically reclined

I'll take your word for it that the lyrics were cool -- I couldn't make them out.  Shocked

Still . . . early 80s recording technology aside . . . good tune.  I liked the pairing of the chorused rhythm with the gritty, edgy lead.  That had a lot of potential sound-wise.

Unfortunately, the group this reminded me of most, you guys won't get.  It's C&K, Cecillio and Kapono.  They're pretty much legends here in the islands -- but little known outside.  They used that chorused sound a lot on ballads -- still do, actually.

Thanks for keeping something happening in here, Greg.

I wish I had some of the old 4-track cassette stuff I did with friends on my old Porta 144.  I got one of those from Japan before they were even exported to the U.S.  They (the recordings) weren't very good -- but I would love to re-hear some of them.

Shapeless Form

A shapeless form I sculpt and twist
And pass it on a precious gift
Now you must shape and twist it to
And in the end just what gets through?

Refrain
The chisel blade is sharp, the stone is strong
Impressions not easily made when your on your own
I keep on talking you don't seem to understand
Looks like I'll have to try again.

The bridge is narrow, no room for two
Try to cross and you might fall through
Not enough to stay on your own side
And if you fail at least you've tried

Refrain
The windows still closed, your just out of reach
You can't avoid the pane of glass inbetween
Should I turn out the lights and lower the shade
Shouldn't we be on our way?

I like this. I can hear a pro singer doing this. Reminds me of Atlanta Rhythm Section.

This is definitely up for a remake.
